New to veterinary dentistry, or just need a refresher in technique? Dental extractions are one of the most common surgical procedures performed in daily veterinary practice. In this basic laboratory, you will:
- Recognize the most common indications for dental extractions
- Learn how to select instrumentation for efficient extractions
- Learn the basic techniques of surgical dental extractions and flap design
- Practice these techniques on cadaver heads with direct supervision from two board-certified veterinary dentists

- Important anatomy critical in your understanding and execution of the more complicated dental extractions.
- Extractions of the more technically challenging teeth in dogs and cats
- Techniques in oronasal fistula repair
- Retrieval of retained tooth roots and root tips
